7. Emma Eckstein
Sigmund Freuds experiments on Emma Eckstein took place in 1892. Emma was born in Austria in the year 1865. To this day she is considered one of Freuds most important patients. She initially met with Freud because she was experiencing feelings of melancholy as well as some pains on her stomach. Freud treated her for three years; however, despite this, Freud did not treat her for her actual ailments. Rather, Freud diverted the treatment from her actual issues, to instead address chronic masturbation, and hysteria. Surprisingly, she stuck around with Freud for three whole years. She was then made to have experimental surgeries which ended horribly for her. After being given cocaine, the inside of her nose was then burned during the surgery.
