When retention of short term memory becomes very stressful and an individual finds themselves paralyzed with their decision making abilities, it can be a symptom of Alzheimers. Some of the issues that people experience include having trouble getting to familiar areas where the individual has always gone before either on foot or by car. Other Alzheimers patients complain about weariness when things do not go according to their plan rather than blaming their own mental deterioration. Accepting the gravity of Alzheimers is an imperative step to treatment. Alzheimers patients should make lists and write down their thoughts to help themselves remember what they are doing so that they don’t lose themselves in daily tasks that at an earlier point in time would have been second nature to them.
