10. Mood Swings
Mood swings are often related to Gluten Intolerance which can cause unstable emotional and mental health more than what you may think. Some symptoms lead to anxiety, depression, ADD, and sudden drastic mood swings. Depression symptoms in individuals with gluten sensitivities can be due to an auto-immune disorder that causes inflammation in the nervous system. Symptoms of depression includes hopelessness, lack of interest, loss of appetite, low energy, sleep changes, and uncontrolled anger. Another explanation of mood problems can be gluten interfering with protein absorption, specifically the amino acid tryptophan that’s essential in producing the feeling of relaxation and eliciting a sense of well-being. Anxiety often goes hand in hand with depression, making it difficult to relax and think clearly, where Gluten Intolerance must be quickly addressed.
