Donald Trump has been a billionaire since he was young, because he inherited a large sum of money from his father. He did however capitalize on this inheritance and use it to help bring his own fortune to a hefty sum of 8 Billion dollars. In 2001 he built his famous trump tower, and has since been an icon in the mainstream media.
