Nearly everyone owns a sharpie, however there have been situations where because the marker was used as a tool for the implementation of graffiti, laws have stated that it is illegal to be found in a public place with one of these. It is also illegal to sell a sharpie marker to any individual who is under the age of 13 years old. There have been actual court cases where people were fined for owning or selling sharpie markers.
